The goal of KCCE is to prepare the coffee marketing co-operatives to participate effectively in the ongoing coffee reforms including utilizing the ‘second window’ or direct sales method of coffee marketing alongside the traditional central auction system.
This will not only safeguard the interests of over 700,000 small scale coffee farmers but it will also facilitate the maximization of returns from their coffee sales proceeds.
-Give farmers an opportunity to market coffee directly to buyers and have representation at the Nairobi Coffee Exchange;
-Provide timely market information to farmers regarding pricing conditions, demand and supply trends and the quality expectations of various buyers;
-Assist Kenyan coffee farmers to improve the quality and increase the quantity of coffee to enhance their returns;
-Deepen the financial management capacity of primary coffee marketing societies to improve their ability to serve farmers effectively.
